Wigs for Veterans Program
Pink and Pouty Medical Wigs is an approved provider for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), offering custom cranial prosthetics (medical wigs) to veterans experiencing hair loss.​
The VA covers 100% of the cost for eligible veterans.
Health Spending Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are also accepted for purchases.

Program Details:
This program is provided in part by “Hair for Heroes”: A specialized program providing custom wigs for veterans. It also serves individuals with medical hair loss from conditions like alopecia, chemotherapy, lupus, diabetes, thyroid disorders, burns, and scarring.
Steps for Veterans:

Consultation Request: Schedule an evaluation with your VA Primary Care Physician to discuss hair loss and the need for a cranial prosthetic.

Contact Pink and Pouty: Call 504-342-7603 for a complimentary consultation and custom wig fitting. Provide referral or authorization if available. First-time claimants will have their eligibility verified by the billing department.

Customization: Work with a Certified Hair Replacement Specialist to choose options like cap style, hair texture, color, and density.

Approval Process: Information will be submitted to the local VA Prosthetic Department. Upon approval, the prosthetic will be custom-made.

Delivery: Once completed, veterans will be contacted for pick-up or delivery—at no cost.
